September has been an action-packed month for us, full of progress, adventure, and meaningful connections. It marked a special time in my life as my first family member, my sister Erin, visited my home in Northern Thailand. We made the most of her three-week stay, diving into both the beauty and purpose of this place I now call home. Erin didn’t just experience the breathtaking islands of Southern Thailand, the vibrant pulse of Bangkok, and the hidden gems of the northern mountains—she also rolled up her sleeves and got involved with our work!
Erin, a dedicated board member of the Kostro Foundation, has contributed to nearly all our projects over the past two years. It felt only natural to bring her to Omkoi, where we spent time at the Children's Home, meeting the incredible young spirits and leadership behind one of our most important projects. It was a moment of connection, reminding us of the real human impact our foundation aims to create.
Erin’s visit coincided with our Grand Opening Party at The Bitcoin Learning Center, and she was an invaluable part of the team. With nearly 100 guests—most of whom were international and meeting each other for the first time—her natural ability to connect with people brought an extra spark to the event. We had eight team members working tirelessly to manage all the moving parts, and it all came together beautifully. The energy in the room was undeniable as about 75 Bitcoiners gathered in Chiang Mai. It was inspiring to see brilliant minds, young and old, converge with one shared mission: fix the money, fix the world.
That same theme carried into the following week during Thailand’s Bitcoin Conference, where five of our team members, including Erin, helped run our booth for The Bitcoin Learning Center. It was an incredible opportunity to share our vision and build new connections within the Bitcoin community.
As I reflect on the past two years, it’s hard to believe how far we’ve come. We took a 40-year-old, three-story building and transformed it into a hub of education. Our mission? To teach both children and adults about financial literacy through the lens of the history and evolution of money. We are focused on addressing the root problems caused by centralized systems over the last 50 years and empowering communities to break free from these constraints. Our work is not just about fixing immediate needs like building bathrooms, kitchens, or churches (though these remain crucial)—it’s about building a future where financial inclusion is possible for everyone, not just a privileged few.
Our scholarly research and academic inquiries are aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by disadvantaged communities in Northern Thailand. With every step forward, we gather data-driven insights for academic publication, contributing to the global conversation on financial empowerment and Bitcoin’s sustainable role in developing regions.
We believe that lasting change doesn’t come from charity alone but from equipping people with the knowledge and tools to build a better future. That’s what drives us. We’re passionate about helping the most disadvantaged, not only through providing for immediate needs but by opening doors to financial inclusion and economic opportunity for all.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Together, we’re building a future rooted in hope, education, and the power of Bitcoin.
