Dear Friends,
Continuing on this journey in 2024, I find myself grappling with the daunting task of expressing the deep frustration that often comes with this worthy endeavor. Here, we're not just putting in effort, we're also enduring the toll it takes to keep going. Climbing towards our goals often feels like stepping into a whirlwind that threatens to knock us off course from making any real progress. It's a place where we're forced to really think about our objectives, and where we're putting our time and energy, knowing it could be spent elsewhere, yet feeling drawn to this distant place feels mission worthy from the civilized world yet unexplainable when we arrive here. It’s like stepping into some vortex that complicates your brain from processing things normally.
In this world of endless possibilities, our dreams often clash with the harsh reality of what's actually doable. Even the simplest acts can get lost in translation, overshadowed by our vastly different backgrounds. But even in the midst of this confusion, there's a simple joy that's hard to explain. Why mess with a good thing? You can’t try to change them and how much is too little or too much. They will be fine without you. It's a lot of questions that make you stop and think.
Charity work often sees a revolving door of people coming in with good intentions but causing more chaos than help. So we're left wondering: Why are we really doing this? Are we simply drawn to help those in need? Are we making a real positive lasting impact? Are we being more disruptive than helpful? Are we inviting too much change? These are the doubts that creep in.
But amidst all the uncertainty, there's a glimmer of hope. By crafting a more adaptable approach, the emphasis shifts to laying down the literal groundwork, creating a blank canvas and bedrock upon which others can contribute. Instead of merely offering financial support or resources, the aim is to establish an environment where ideas can thrive and individuals can unite to effect tangible change. The primary objective is clear, to prepare the terrain for others to embark on their own transformative journeys. Our job moving forward is simple, to pave the way for others to do great things.
Just like a city rising up from the plains, our little project on this mountain is a sign of resilience, a guidepost of progress in a tough environment. And by nurturing this vision, we're teaching the next generation to keep pushing forward, no matter what challenges they face.
So as we move forward into 2024, let's keep building, one step at a time, creating something that will last for years to come. Because at the end of the day, real change doesn't happen overnight, it's built on a solid foundation of hard work, determination, and a belief in something greater than ourselves.
Warm regards,
Jimmy
