Creating Lasting Memories for Underprivileged Children this Thanksgiving Season

Dear friends and family,

With Thanksgiving just two weeks away, our hearts are turning towards gratitude and the spirit of giving. As we prepare to gather around our tables, let's take a moment to extend our thankfulness beyond our immediate circles. A year ago, Linda Anderson, Erin Roth, and the compassionate community at Choong Hyun Mission Church in Los Angeles made dreams come true for 75 children who had never experienced the wonders of a city.

Picture this: children, for whom the sight of a car or the luxury of air conditioning was merely a dream, were taken on a transformative journey. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we visited the Zoo, explored the science planetarium, enjoyed a heartwarming BBQ with another children's home, and even had the privilege of watching a movie at the cinema. It was an experience of a lifetime for these young souls from the mountainous region of Omkoi.

As I reflect on this day one year ago, I can't help but thank the heavens for guiding me to serve these disadvantaged children. This Thanksgiving, in the spirit of giving back and recognizing our own blessings, we are excited to announce our second annual event.

This year, we aim to bring joy to 80 children from the children's home, offering them a similar enriching experience. We've partnered with top universities to give them an insightful tour, secured an entire theater room courtesy of Major Cinaplex organization, and have dedicated volunteers ensuring a safe and memorable journey.

However, unlike last year, we find ourselves without sponsors for this event. Our personal resources are currently directed towards the construction of a modern, safe, and sanitary kitchen and bathrooms for nearly 100 children. If you or anyone you know is in the spirit of giving for these children, we would be immensely grateful to have your support as a sponsor.

The estimated budget for our two-day event is $1,775. Within this amount, $993 is earmarked for food expenses, covering five meals for 80 children at a rate of $2.48 per child. The second-largest expense pertains to fuel for the round trip from the mountains 5 hours away to the City and back home to the mountains. The combined fuel cost for all 6 trucks on this journey is $440.00.

The remaining 19.27%, equivalent to $342, will be assigned to cover discounted tickets for both the Movie Theater and the visit to the Planetarium. Being a registered charity they even included 🍿🥤

Your support will not only create cherished memories for these children but also contribute to their overall well-being and development. Together, let's make this Thanksgiving season a time of giving that truly makes a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, healthy, and joyous holiday season.

Warm regards,

Jimmy Kostro
